A beauty blogger and filmmaker tired of the vicious comments being posted on her photographs has made a powerful video in a bid to battle false images of perfection. Em Ford, from London, began posting pictures of herself without make-up on social media a few months ago. She has since made a video in which she reveals all the awful things people said about those photos - and it makes shocking viewing. In a powerful moment in the clip, Em gives herself a makeover and the comments quickly turn positive - but not for long. As it turns out, by wearing make-up she is apparently 'misleading' people. One person even comments: "She still looks like s**t." The comments are just as negative as they were when she was bare-faced. But Em is working to combat the cause of this negativity. She says: "I wanted to create a film that showed how social media can set unrealistic expectations on both women and men. "One challenge many face today is that, as a society, we're so used to seeing false images of perfection, and comparing ourselves to unrealistic beauty standards that it can be hard to remember the most important thing - You ARE beautiful." "You are beautiful - no matter how flawed you feel, no matter how upset you may about the way you look or how hard you find it to make friends, or be confident. Believe in yourself, and never let anyone tell you're not beautiful - not even yourself." She is encouraging people to share their thoughts and join the discussion on social media using the hashtag #youlookdisgusting - which, unbelievably, was one of the comments she received on a picture (By: Mirror).
